Vehicle refrigeration is a refrigeration system fitted to a van, ute or truck to keep goods at a set temperature while they’re on the road. It uses insulation, a compressor and an evaporator to hold a constant temperature in the cargo area, from +4°C for chilled goods down to -25°C for frozen. It’s used to transport food, flowers, pharmaceuticals and other temperature-sensitive goods.
We fit refrigeration to vans, utes and rigid truck bodies across a wide range of makes and models. That includes vans like the Toyota Hiace, Ford Transit and Mercedes Sprinter, utes like the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger and Isuzu D-MAX, and trucks from Fuso, Hino, Iveco, Isuzu and UD. Our truck bodies range from 2.4 to 7.6 metres.
Yes. We fit refrigeration units to both new and existing vans. Most of our truck work is also fitting bodies to trucks our customers already own, including removing the old body if needed. Not every vehicle is suitable, so we’ll check yours first. If your vehicle is new, check your warranty before any changes are made.
It depends on the vehicle, the refrigeration unit and any optional extras. As a guide:
- Utes: 1 to 2 days
- Vans: 1 to 2 weeks from measurement to handover
- Truck bodies: 2 to 4 weeks from measure-up to handover
Multi-temp fit-outs may take a little longer.
Yes. We offer maintenance, repairs and emergency breakdown assistance for van, ute and truck refrigeration. Our national network of distributors and technicians means support is available wherever you are, even in remote areas. Spare parts are readily available to keep downtime to a minimum.
Start with what you’re carrying. The right system depends on:
- Temperature: chilled (+4°C to +12°C), frozen (-18°C to -25°C), or multi-temp for both
- Load size and route: vans suit smaller loads and metro runs, trucks suit larger volumes and regional routes
- Hours on the road: vehicles running 12+ hours a day need heavier-duty compressors
